About
Ignition!
Ignition! was formed in February 2004. Despite a couple of personnel
changes, Ignition! has stayed together. In the summer of 2005, Ignition!
added Dan Testa as the new Tenor and added Matt Swann in 2007 as
the new Baritone. Ignition! has been fortunate to perform several
shows and travel to many places thus far…and hope to do a lot more
of it in the future!
Contest
Career
Ignition! made their contest debut in April 2004 after just a few
weeks of rehearsal; the quartet was a few points away from a wild
card invitation to the 2004 International contest. The following
fall Ignition! placed 2nd in the Rocky Mountain District contest.
Ignition! posted a qualifying score for the 2005 international contest
in Salt Lake City, but due to personnel changes were unable to compete.
Ignition! became RMD champions in October of 2005, placed 21st at
the 2006 international contest in Indianapolis and originally received
12th place in the 2007 International contest in Denver. Unfortunately,
Ignition! was disqualified in 2007 due to issues getting one of
our songs cleared properly before contest. In 2008 Ignition! finished
16th in the world in a very tight top 20 contest. The quartet continues
to look forward to the future and what it may bring.
Traveling
Ignition! has traveled around the Rocky Mountain, Far Western, Sunshine,
Illinois, and Central States District doing shows and performing
at a variety of places. Ignition! looks forward to performing at
a show near you in the future.
What's
in the future?
Ignition! is a quartet that loves to "ignite" audiences with a wide
variety of music. Ignition! is fortunate to have two wonderful arrangers
in the quartet who make it possible to continue to sing original
music. Ignition! released a recording in March of 2006 and has plans
to work on another in the near future. Browse Ignition!'s website
and by all means, let them sing for you!
