Dennis Malone (BASS) became a barbershopper in high school, although not a member of the society. He took some friends to West Towns Chorus once when it was directed by Earl Auge (sp?). His next visit to a barbershop chapter/show occurred after he got out of the Army. His father took him to see the CABC show at McCormick Place in Chicago. They saw the Four Renegades, the Sidewinders, and the Imposters. Also the great Chorus of the Dunes. Denny went to SIU in Carbondale, Ill for college and became a charter member of the Little Egypt Chorus in Herrin, Ill. After graduation Denny found himself in Dallas and joined a new chorus called the Vocal Majority. He went to International the first time with them and came in third. The next year, 1975, they won, the next time they competed they came in second. (Denny is one of the few guys around who lost twice with the VM.) Denny happened to be in the right place at the right time and started singing with the Stage Door Four which morphed into the Side Street Ramblers . . . Leaving Texas in 1988 he moved to Virginia and joined the Alexandria Harmonizers. It's been quite a ride . . . 6 Chorus gold medals, plus seconds and thirds, a Quartet Gold Medal . . . He actually has a chorus gold medal older than our Lead and Baritone.

Matt Swann (BARITONE) is the newest member of Ignition! and has been singing barbershop for 11 years, beginning in his native Maryland with the Chorus of the Chesapeake in 1996. While attending the University of Miami in Florida, he joined the Miamians chorus, eventually directing them in the 2004 District contest where they finished 4th. His college years found him in a college quartet as well, called HEAT. They went on to win the 2003 International Collegiate gold medal in Montreal. After graduating college it was off to Texas, where Matt sang with the Texas Millionaires and the Vocal Majority choruses, winning an International Chorus gold medal with the latter. He currently resides in Denver, sings with the Sound of the Rockies chorus, arranges music for various groups and is a candidate judge in the Music category (the category for total NERDS). When not barbershopping, he enjoys gardening, studying geography, history and new urbanism, teaching Music at an elementary school in the Cherry Creek school district, and wasting time on Myspace. No wonder he's still single.

Curtis Terry (LEAD) has been singing barbershop since 2001 although his first barbershop experience came when he was just a young child and his dad (Mical Terry) sang Lead in a RMD quartet called "Sunland Vocal Band". Curtis recently graduated from University of Denver with a degree in International Business...Curtis is living proof that a 13 year plan is possible. When not singing barbershop Curtis can be found on the road riding his custom built chopper, walking the dog, or going to the park with his daughter Amiaya (age 7). Curtis looks forward to singing a tag with you in the near future....

Dan Testa (TENOR) has been performing on stage, and singing for roughly 25 years. He started singing in choruses and doing musical theater at an early age. Dan started singing barbershop in 1989 but took a break from the style to study opera and theater, graduating from the University of Colorado in 1995 with a bachelors degree in music. Now a member of the Actors' Equity Association, Dan performs in musicals around the country and in local theaters. Dan was most recently seen as Feyedka in the Country Dinner Playhouse production of Fiddler on the Roof.

Prior to becoming the new tenor for Ignition! Dan had founded many contemporary a cappella groups. Most notably, while living in San Francisco Dan helped start The New Originals. The New Originals won the 1996 Bay Area Harmony Sweepstakes and took third in the National competition.
